Getting Started
Naturally, to work as a nurse in the UK, you'll need your UK registration -- ie. your licence -- (which happily is good for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales). The first step towards getting the licence and becoming a Continental Travelnurse is successfully passing the International English Language Testing System, also known as the IELTS. If you’re practising as a Registered Nurse in an English-speaking acute hospital, you'll pass the test easily. Typically, the testing centres hold exams twice a month, usually on the weekends. Here’s a link to the IELTS web site, which will give you all the info you need to sign up for the test.

But don’t feel you have to wade through that! Call us and we’ll walk you through the entire procedure step by step. And don’t be fooled by the misinformation you can find on other web sites and even government postings – we know exactly who is eligible to practise as a nurse in the UK and what you need to do to fulfil all the requirements.
Let Continental Travelnurse guide you through the process of the IELTS, applying for UK registration, getting applications from the Nursing Midwifery Council and finally the Overseas Nursing Programme. Nursing is such a vital, essential service that getting approval to practice overseas can sometimes seem daunting.
But that’s exactly why your services are so in-demand. Lesser nurses can’t qualify or simply won’t be bothered. We recruit only the best nurses and we make it as painless as possible for you to get your well-deserved certification.
Like nurses in every country, you’re an valuable addition to the UK healthcare system. You’ll never feel as appreciated as you are here, where the workload is typically lower and the respect is high. Red tape is annoying, but believe us, it’s worth the effort.
